Bomba de insulina

Una bomba de insulina es un dispositivo para administrar insulina que utilizan algunas personas que tienen diabetes. Es un pequeño dispositivo a batería que puede llevarse enganchado en el cinturón o dentro de un bolsillo y que está conectado a un tubo plástico angosto que se inserta apenas debajo de la piel y que se sujeta con cinta adhesiva. Las personas que utilizan una bomba de insulina la programan para que suministre la hormona en forma continua durante todo el día y para que libere dosis adicionales cuando sube el azúcar en sangre (por ejemplo, después de comer alimentos).
