Official Sports Health Services Provider for Akron Zips Athletics

Akron Children’s and The University of Akron (UA) took their 30-year partnership to a new level in 2022. Akron Children’s is now the Official Sports Health Services Provider for Akron Zips Athletics.

Our Sports Health team has a proven track record of providing the highest quality sports medicine care to college, professional and elite-level athletes. In addition to caring for the athlete’s physical health, we offer sports performance programs, sports psychology and nutrition.
 

New sports health center opening in 2023

Work is underway on the Akron Children’s Sports Health facility at The University of Akron. It will feature a throwing wall, agility area, weights, sports equipment, custom orthotic fabrication, concussion treatment room, an imaging suite for X-rays and sports performance expertise.

Located within the UA Stile Athletics Field House, the new sports health facility is set to open this fall. It will be available to high school, club sports and AAU athletes from around the region, offering younger athletes the same expert care as UA student-athletes receive.
