Glucagón

Glucagón

El glucagón es una hormona que aumenta el nivel de azúcar en sangre (glucosa). El páncreas es el encargado de producirla. Cuando el nivel de azúcar es bajo, el glucagón le indica al hígado que envíe azúcar a la sangre y esta llega a las células para generar energía. Cuando una persona con diabetes tiene un nivel de azúcar en sangre muy bajo, una dosis de glucagón puede ayudarla a subir rápidamente la glucosa en la sangre.
