Our Tuberous Sclerosis (TS) clinic provides care to your child or young adult affected by this rare genetic disease. Because this condition can cause benign tumors to grow in the brain and on many other vital organs in the body, the clinic is held in the NeuroDevelopmental Science Center (NDSC). Our specialists will follow your child to other specialty clinics as their condition dictates.
Comprehensive evaluation and education is provided during your child’s initial clinic visit, including information about the TS Alliance. You and your child will also meet with a neurologist and - on most occasions - a neuropsychologist. We will also refer your child to other clinical areas if they are not already seeing specialists in these areas. These areas include, but are not limited to, cardiology, nephrology, ophthalmology, neuropsychology, and neurosurgery.
Your child is evaluated in accordance with the latest International Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Consensus guidelines. Surveillance of your child’s condition continues at follow up visits. The clinic coordinator will ensure periodic communications with families between visits.
