I Feel Embarrassed When I Have My Period at School. What Should I Do?

Some girls worry about having their period when they're at school. For instance, they might think that when they're in the bathroom, other girls can hear them opening a pad or tampon.

It's common to feel self-conscious about this at first, but lots of girls are making those crinkling sounds in the bathroom. When things are new, we notice them more, but it's unlikely anyone else is really listening to what you're doing on the other side of the bathroom stall.

So do what you need to do and get to class. And on the bright side, remember that other sounds going on in the bathroom can be more embarrassing than the rustle of a pad or tampon wrapper!
