Locker Room
Equipment for athletes in need
The Sports Medicine team at Akron Children’s in Boardman is stepping up to help young athletes in need. The Locker Room, where new and gently used sporting equipment is available, will give athletes the gear they need to play sports and lower their chance of getting hurt. Available items include anything from baseball bats and spikes to basketball shoes, hockey skates and more.
If an Akron Children’s Mahoning Valley patient or employee has a need, they get a “prescription” for the Locker Room. The Akron Children’s athletic trainers who work at local high schools can also refer athletes to the Locker Room.
