Meet Shankar Srinivas Ganapathy, MD
is Director of Neuroradiology and Director of Radiology Education at Akron Children’s Hospital and an Associate Professor of Radiology and a member of Radiology council at Northeast Ohio Medical University. Dr. Ganapathy completed fellowship training in pediatric radiology and pediatric neuroradiology at Stanford University and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and neuroradiology fellowship training at UT Health Sciences center at San Antonio. A board-certified pediatric radiologist and pediatric neuroradiologist, with more than two decades of experience, Dr. Ganapathy has been practicing at Akron Children's since 2008 and leads the hospital’s pediatric neuroimaging program with special interests in advanced MRI services, including functional MRI and perfusion imaging, tumor imaging, MR protocol development, and non-accidental trauma. In addition to his clinical and academic roles, he serves as Co-Chair of the Professional Practice Evaluation Committee, supporting physician quality and performance oversight across the medical staff. He earned the Certified Physician Executive (CPE) credential from the Certifying Commission in Medical Management and is actively involved in national radiology societies as an invited faculty. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and research presentations and has earned several teaching awards from residents.
