Meet Casandra Solis, OD, FAAO

A graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry, Dr. Casandra Solis became the first optometrist employed at Akron Children’s Hospital when she joined the Vision Center in 2014. To help further her dedication to younger patients, she completed a residency in Pediatric Optometry at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Solis provides eye exams and helps patients with everything from ocular disease to contact lenses. An avid proponent of continual learning, she became a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 2014. In 2020, in collaboration with The Ohio State University College of Optometry, she implemented the Pediatric Optometry Residency Program at Akron Children's Hospital, one of only 7 programs within a stand-alone children’s hospital. With the increase in optometry providers, Dr. Solis was recently named Director of Optometry to help continue the excellent optometric services provided at Akron Children’s.
