Community Impact
Akron Children’s is proud to participate in events, organizations and causes that make a positive impact on children and families in the communities we serve. Through community event participation, Akron Children’s is able to extend its mission beyond the walls of our hospital and reach more children and families where they live, learn and play.
Community Event Participation
Community event participation is coordinated by Akron Children’s External Affairs department through the Outreach Events Committee. We participate in public, community events or festivals, school-based events, and other events targeting kids and families. All events support health-related initiatives that benefit children and families and align with the hospital’s strategic initiatives. Organizations seeking Akron Children's participation at their events must complete this request form at least six weeks in advance of the event.

Apply for Sponsorship
Akron Children’s provides financial support to community events and programs that align with our health system’s mission, and preference is given to:
- Organizations, events or projects that will have a measurable, health‐related impact on the children and families of Northeast and Southeast Ohio.
- Events or projects that support our regional health care partners.
- Events or programs that align with the hospital’s strategic initiatives.
- Activities with a proven track record of success – by providing proof that they were well‐ attended, received high‐level customer satisfaction, etc.
We accept sponsorship requests on a continuous basis, but applications must be submitted at least 12 weeks prior to the start of a program or event for consideration.
Organizations requesting sponsorship for multiple events and programs should submit one, comprehensive application. Multiple applications from the same organization will not be considered during the same budget/calendar year.
