Akron Children’s offers lots of convenient ways to get annual flu shot
09-19-2025 (Ohio)
Akron Children’s will offer a variety of ways for children – and families - to get their annual flu shot, beginning Sept. 27.
“An annual flu shot is one of the best ways to protect kids from contracting the flu and getting severe illness, and if a child has other health conditions like asthma or diabetes, a flu shot can help keep them out of the hospital,” said Dr. Hanna Lemmerman, a pediatrician with Akron Children’s.
Akron Children’s estimates that the 66,564 flu vaccines administered last season prevented roughly 13,312 influenza illnesses.
Both the drive-thru and in-office family flu shot clinics are convenient ways for the whole family (infants from the age of 6 months to adults 65 years) to get vaccinated at the same time. Appointments are not required but encouraged and can be conveniently scheduled through MyChart at https://mychart.akronchildrens.org/MyChart/
Akron Children’s will offer two drive-thru flu shot clinics:
- Boston Heights – Sunday, Oct. 5
- Beeghly campus, Lot C – Sunday, Oct. 12
