Flu Shot Availability
Why are yearly flu shots important? They reduce the risk of flu complications that could lead to hospitalization, especially if your child is under age 5 or has a chronic condition like asthma. Flu shots reduce the risk of illness – so your child can stay in school, and you don't have to miss work – and lessen the severity if your child does get sick. Protect your family by getting everyone 6 months and older vaccinated. Your insurance will be billed for flu vaccines. Locate the clinic convenient for you in the menus below.

Flu shots will be available if your child comes to Urgent Care for another reason, and it is medically appropriate to get vaccinated.
Six reasons to get your child’s flu shot from an Akron Children’s provider:
-
Akron Children’s provides vaccines to patients as young as 6 months old. The law doesn’t permit pharmacists to give the flu shot to children under the age of 7.
-
Our pediatric experts know about giving vaccines to kids. We know shots can be scary, and we will do everything we can to make it less so.
-
Our flu vaccines contain no preservatives.
-
You can get a flu vaccine from us at a well visit, inpatient stay or specialty outpatient visit. In many cases, parents and siblings can get vaccinated along with their child. Our school health team also provides vaccines in the fall.
-
We offer drive-thru clinics for kids and parents. Just drive up, leave your child in the car, and we will take care of the rest.
