The Nurturing Families Program is designed for any parent, caregiver, or parent-to-be who would like to learn new ways to make healthy parenting choices. The program is available to expecting parents, as well as parents and guardians of children birth to 5 years old. Parents must live in northeast Ohio.

Topics include:

  • Developmental milestones
  • Attachment
  • Expectations and discipline
  • Stress management

Classes are offered online each week, for 7 weeks. Classes last 45 minutes to 1 hour. Sessions are one-on-one and taught by Akron Children's Community Health Educators. Registration is rolling.

All parents who complete the program receive a generous incentive package, including gift cards, toys, books and a kit to help child-proof their homes.

The Nurturing Families Program is a partnership between Akron Children’s and The Ohio Children’s Trust Fund. It is available at no cost.
