Scott Boulanger, MD

Director, Pediatric General Surgery; Pediatric General Surgeon

Dr. Boulanger is a pediatric surgeon and division director of pediatric surgery at Akron Children’s Hosptial. He also serves as the hospital’s surgical extracorporeal membrane oxygenation director and its bariatric surgical director. He’s been practicing since 2003 and with Akron Children’s since 2015. Dr. Boulanger earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and his doctorate degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Graduate School. He completed a residency and fellowship in surgery at The State University of New York at Buffalo, as well as a fellowship in pediatric surgery at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo. Dr. Boulanger has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, neonatal surgery, thyroid surgery and bariatric surgery. He’s board certified in pediatric surgery and has contributed to numerous presentations, book chapters and lectures. He’s a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a specialty fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of several other professional organizations.
