Dr. Eddy is a sports medicine physician at Akron Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine Center. He’s been practicing since 2006 and with Akron Children’s since 2016. He’s a graduate of West Virginia University School of Medicine, where he also completed his residency in pediatrics. He went on to complete a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Akron Children’s. Dr. Eddy provides diagnosis and treatment for musculoskeletal problems, pain, injuries, home exercise programs, ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections, platelet-rich plasma injections and simple fracture care for adolescents and teens, with a special interest in throwers, weightlifters, runners and biomechanics. He is board certified in sports medicine and pediatrics, and is the team physician at The University of Akron. Additionally, he’s a clinical assistant professor at Northeast Ohio Medical University, a clinical assistant professor at Ohio University and medical director for the athletic training program at Kent State University. He’s also the 2020 recipient of the Akron Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine Teaching Award.
