Dr. Watson is a pediatric gastroenterologist at Akron Children’s Hospital, where he’s been practicing since 2016. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va. and completed a residency in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Va. He went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Watson has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, celiac disease, endoscopic surveillance and clinical informatics. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology. He’s a member of North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, American Gastroenterological Association, American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Informatics Association. Additionally, Dr. Watson is an associate professor of pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
