Dr. Triemstra is a pediatric psychologist at Akron Children’s, where he’s been practicing since 2014. He earned a doctorate degree from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. and completed a pediatric psychology residency and fellowship at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. He went on to complete a second pediatric psychology fellowship at Akron Children’s. Dr. Triemstra has a special interest in health psychology, mental health and chronic illness, diabetes and endocrinology, cystic fibrosis, medical adherence and evidence-based psychotherapy. He’s a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society of Pediatric Psychology. He’s also a clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
