Dr. Polousky is an orthopedic surgeon and division director of Orthopedic Sports Medicine at Akron Children’s Hospital. In his role, he helps lead the care of patients who require surgical intervention for sports and activity-related injuries. After graduating from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, he completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at The Children’s Hospital in Denver. His specialization in orthopedic sports medicine is from the University of Colorado’s Department of Orthopedic Surgery in Denver. Dr. Polousky is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine. He is past president of the ROCK (Research on OsteoChondritis Dissecans) pediatric multicenter cartilage sports study group and past treasurer of the PRISM (Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society) multicenter pediatric sports medicine study group. He was the 2018 recipient of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Achievement Award and the endowed chair of the Andrea-Mennen Family Master Physician. He also has hundreds of invited lectureships, national and international presentations, and publications to his credit.
