Meet Harry Kellermier, MD
Dr. Kellermier is a staff pathologist and neuropathologist at Akron Children’s Hospital. He joined Akron Children’s in 2025 and brings more than 20 years of experience in pathology, laboratory medicine, medical education, and physician leadership. Dr. Kellermier earned his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED), completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at Summa Health, and completed a Neuropathology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. He is board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, and Neuropathology. His clinical interests include neuropathology, surgical pathology, and quality improvement. Prior to joining Akron Children’s, he served as Vice Chair of Pathology and Director of Anatomic Pathology at Summa Health, along with numerous leadership and quality-focused roles. He also served as Residency Program Director and was recognized as Teacher of the Year by pathology residents for three consecutive years. Dr. Kellermier’ s connection to Akron Children’s spans more than 25 years, beginning as a medical student in 2000. He later worked closely with Akron Children’s physicians and laboratory teams throughout his training and career and credits Dr. Agamanolis, a highly respected pediatric neuropathologist and pathologist whose career at Akron Children’s spanned 48 years, with helping inspire his interest in neuropathology.
