Dr. Bearer is a pediatric rheumatologist at Akron Children’s Hospital, where she’s been practicing since 2022. She earned her medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences in Toledo, Ohio and completed a residency in pediatrics at Akron Children’s Hospital. She went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, as well as training in musculoskeletal ultrasound at the Ultrasound School of North American Rheumatologists. Dr. Bearer has a special interest in pediatric rheumatology, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, lupus, juvenile dermatomyositis, vasculitis, autoinflammatory syndromes and musculoskeletal ultrasound. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and by the American College of Rheumatology with a musculoskeletal ultrasound certification in rheumatology. Additionally, Dr. Bearer is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Rheumatology and Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance.
