Meet Arnold Butiu, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC
Arnold Butiu, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, has joined Akron Children’s as our new Vice President and Associate Chief Nursing Officer. In this role, he will be directly responsible for the Center for Nursing Excellence, the Advance Practice Center, Ambulatory Nursing, Respiratory Care, and Nursing Administration & Operations. He will have direct oversight of Nursing Quality, Evidence-Based Practice and Research initiatives, and will drive implementation of technology and innovation in nursing and patient care services. Areas that will continue to directly report to me are the Behavioral Health service line, Neonatal/Perinatal service line, Hematology/Oncology service line, Surgical Services, Acute care, and Critical & Specialty care.
Arnold brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across ambulatory, emergency, surgical, and inpatient care. Most recently, he served as VP and ACNO at Children’s Hospital Colorado, where he advanced system-wide initiatives including Magnet designation efforts. Prior to that, he spent over 25 years at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, where he held progressive leadership roles in both inpatient and ambulatory patient care, information management and quality. Arnold holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Boise State University, an MBA from National Louis University and a BSN from Aurora University. He is dual-board certified as a Nurse Executive–Advanced and Ambulatory Care Nurse.
