Meet Kim M., Parent Mentor at Akron Children's Hospital

Kim M.

Kim's Story

Randy and I are married with two boys ages 13 and 10. Our oldest son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two weeks shy of his 11th birthday. He was diagnosed by his pediatrician when we took him in for what we were hoping was a urinary tract infection. He was sent to Children's immediately. He has not let diabetes stop him. Their son is a student athlete and plays football, basketball, baseball and runs track. We spend our winters downhill skiing (Randy hates the snow!) and the whole family goes camping and boating in the summer.

Kim is a parent mentor for these conditions: Diabetes.

Kim is a mentor for these care services: Diabetes
