Meet Allison O., Parent Mentor at Akron Children's Hospital

Allison O.

Allison's Story

I am the mother of twin girls who were born at 25 weeks. Paige and Harper spent 96 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Akron Children's Mahoning Valley. The girls had retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) along with other ups and downs of the NICU. They were even separated for three weeks when Paige was transferred to Akron Children's Akron campus and Harper remained in Youngstown. Despite their lengthy stay, both girls are thriving and have rounded the corner as they turn three years old.

Allison is a parent mentor for these conditions: Retinopathy of Prematurity.

Allison is a mentor for these care services: Eye, NICU
