Walk for Babies happening September 18 at the Akron Zoo

After two years of being virtual, Walk for Babies has returned to an in-person event. The event was created by the Snellenberger family after their child received care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Akron Children’s.

Walk for Babies allows grateful NICU families to work together to say thanks and raise money for the NICU at the hospital. Akron Children’s welcomes one of those grateful NICU families as the presenting sponsor this year. The Kaulig Family has participated in Walk for Babies for many years because of their personal experience with the NICU and decided to increase their support of the event. Matt and Lisa Kaulig are serving as the honorary chairs of the 2022 Walk for Babies, while the philanthropic arm of Kaulig Companies, Kaulig Giving, is headlining the event.

The event will take place at the Akron Zoo on Sept. 18. Since its inception, Walk for Babies has raised $1.45 million for the Akron Children’s NICU. One hundred percent of funds raised during the event will be given to Akron Children’s to help fund multiple initiatives in the NICU and to enhance the family-centered care it provides.

When: Sunday, Sept. 18; registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 8 a.m.
