Memorial Health’s pediatric therapy services to become part of Akron Children’s

09-22-2023 ( Ohio )

Memorial Health System’s Pediatric Therapy Services in Belpre will become part of Akron Children’s, effective Sept. 25.

Pediatric patients receiving rehabilitative services at the center, located at 1804 Washington Blvd., Suite D, will not notice a change in their care or care team as the practice is renamed Akron Children’s Rehabilitative Services, Belpre.

“We are working hard to make this transition effortless,” said Chris Kwee, director of Rehabilitative Services for Akron Children’s. “Patient appointments will automatically transfer to our systems and our office location, phone numbers, providers, and hours will remain the same. We will begin seeing patients Sept. 28.”

The therapists and support staff of Akron Children’s Rehabilitative Services treat patients of all ages – from infants to teens and young adults with diseases of childhood – for a wide range of issues, from neurological and neuromuscular disorders to developmental delays, feeding and swallowing disorders, autism, communication disorders, traumatic injuries and chronic conditions.

The Belpre office will provide occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy.  Services will also be provided in a few nearby school districts supporting continued community partnerships.

Patient families with questions about the transition should call 740-374-1478.
