Akron Children’s announces promotion of Jennifer Davis to vice president of surgical services

Akron Children’s has promoted Jennifer Davis to vice president of surgical services.

In this role, Davis will expand access to surgical care, improve the flow and coordination of perioperative services across multiple sites and lead continued growth.

“Surgical and perioperative services have become one of the most complex, high‑growth areas of our organization,” said Lisa Aurilio, Akron Children’s chief operating officer. “Jennifer’s leadership, vision and proven track record make her the ideal person to guide this expanding service line at the enterprise level.”

Since joining Akron Children’s in 2021, Davis has led several key strategic initiatives including the opening of two new operating rooms at the GoJo Outpatient Surgery Center, opening the Beachwood Outpatient Surgery Center, consolidating and launching the new Sterile Processing department on the Akron campus, and developing the business and operational plan for the upcoming Akron operating room renovation.

Prior to joining Akron Children’s, Davis held leadership positions in Emergency Services, Critical Care, and Trauma at Southwest General Health Center and Summa Health.
