Akron Children’s launches “More childhood, please™” TV show

01-17-2025 (Akron, Ohio)

There are 6,574 days in the average childhood, and Akron Children’s is dedicated to making sure kids can make the most of every one.

To showcase kids being kids and talk about common subjects they and their families experience, Akron Children’s is launching the “More childhood, please” TV show.

Hosted by Lily Goodwin, 10, and Rhys Thomas, 13, “More childhood, please” is by and for kids. The show premieres on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. on WKYC Channel 3. It can be streamed at 7 p.m. on Jan. 26 on WKYC+ and will be available on the Akron Children’s YouTube channel on Jan. 27.

The premiere features Goodwin and Thomas along with Akron Children’s providers talking about screentime. Segments show kids and their families undertaking two challenges: The first has a family of nine lock up their smartphones and share a flip phone for a weekend. The second challenge gives a group of teens the chance to use their devices creatively to make a mini-movie.
