Akron Children’s Mansfield Behavioral Health Center to host community coat distribution event

10-12-2026 (Akron, Mahoning Valley, Ohio)

Akron Children’s Mansfield Behavioral Health Center will host a community coat distribution event on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 1027 South Trimble Rd. in Mansfield.

The event, made possible through generous community donations, is open to the public and will provide new coats (sizes 3T to adult 4XL), hats and gloves at no cost for children and adults while supplies last. Refreshments will also be provided.

“Winter can be a difficult season for many families, and having a warm coat can make a real difference,” said Dr. Selena Magalotti, child and adolescent psychiatrist. “We’re glad to open our doors to the community and provide something families need.”

The event reflects Akron Children’s commitment to being a resource for children and families throughout Richland County, both inside and outside the walls of the hospital. Families do not need to be current or former Akron Children’s patients to participate, and no registration, insurance information or identification is required.

Guests can stop by to pick up winter essentials and learn more about local resources that can support their family’s well-being.
