I'm pregnant, in a committed relationship and tested negative for hepatitis B. Does my baby need the vaccine?

Even in this situation, there is still a small but real risk of exposure, such as undetected infection or contact after birth. Because the vaccine is very safe and the risk of waiting isn’t zero, early protection is still recommended.
