Are there serious side effects from the MMR (measles-mumps-rubella) vaccine?

Side effects from the MMR vaccine are very low. Some children may develop a fever, and occasionally there is a report of a rash. These effects and the rates of them are very small in comparison to the effects of the real measles infection.
