Doggie brigade member Lucy gives Ruby a helping paw

Before meeting Lucy from our Doggie Brigade, Ruby was filled with anxiety whenever she had a medical appointment. Born with Okur-Chung neurodevelopmental syndrome (OCNDS) and craniosynostosis, Ruby sees many specialists at Akron Children’s. Visits from other members of our Doggie Brigade, sponsored by MilkBone, helped ease some of her fear, but it wasn’t until she met Lucy in 2023 that Ruby went from being scared of her doctor visits to jumping for joy! Lucy and her owner, Nicole, have become friends with Ruby and her family over the years. This special relationship shows what a difference our Doggie Brigade teams make. ????????
