Meet Nicole M., Parent Mentor at Akron Children's

Nicole M.

Nicole's Story

My husband Chris and I adopted our daughter from Ethiopia in 2009. She was 7 months old when we brought her home. She had been living in an orphanage since birth. She has faced her every challenge with humor and grace. Our daughter has been diagnosed with febrile seizures, ADHD, Blount's disease, a submucous cleft palate and developmental delays. She receives speech and occupational therapy weekly and has received physical therapy in the past.

As a parent mentor, I hope to be someone you can feel comfortable sharing your family's story with. We have faced many adventures as parents to our lovely daughter. It has been helpful when we have had the opportunity to discuss our challenges with families who have had similar experiences.

Nicole is a parent mentor for these conditions: Seizures, Blount's Disease, ADHD, Cleft Lip and Palate, Developmental Delays.

Nicole is a mentor for these care services: Adoption, Developmental Delay, Ear Nose Throat (ENT), Neurology, Orthopedics, Seizures, Surgery
