I am a mom to triplets who were born at 28 weeks - Daniel, David and Sara. Daniel had a grade 4 IVH. This caused encephalitis, which resulted in a shunt being placed. He has had numerous revisions over the years.
He has also had multiple surgeries to fix other issues such as strabismus, hernias, and ear tubes. David came home on oxygen and had several hospital stays his first year due to BPD, which is now resolved. Today he is 100 percent healthy.
Daniel and David are now teenagers. Sara passed away from a group B strep infection at 3 weeks old. We also had another daughter, Elena, and son, Joey.
