Traffic Disruptions

With 90 service locations throughout northeast Ohio, there’s bound to be an orange cone or two popping up near our facilities. This is especially true for our hospital campus in downtown Akron, where road construction and the expansion of the Ronald McDonald house will soon lead to some traffic changes. Akron Campus - There are several closures due to the expansion of the Ronald McDonald House and the demolition of Rt. 59. Driving routes to our parking decks are in the documents below.

  • November 1, 2017: The Center St. bridge across the now closed section of Rt. 59 will close for widening for several months.
  • November 1, 2017: Rand Ave. will close at W. Market St. for three weeks.
  • October 29, 2017: The ramp from I-77 N to I-76 W will be closed until August 2018.
  • October 10, 2017: Locust Street will be closed Cedar St. for two weeks. During this time, the Locust St. entrance to the Exchange St. Deck can only be accessed from Exchange St.
  • October 6, 2017: The southern two lanes of West Exchange St. between Dart and Maple Sts. are closed until further notice.
  • October 6, 2017: Dart St. is closed at the intersection of Rt. 59, Main and Howard Sts.
  • March 3, 2017: The pedestrian crossing area on Bowery St. between the Considine Professional Building and the main hospital will be closed for 18 months, except the crosswalk underneath the Bowery St. pedestrian bridge. Visitors and staff are asked to use this bridge to travel between these buildings.
