Insurance coordination

After our team receives a prescription from your provider, our medication assistance coordinators will work with your insurance to get you access to your medication as soon as possible. The medication access team will keep you informed of the progress along the way.

Some insurances may require you to receive your medication from a different pharmacy. If this occurs, we will work with you and your pharmacy to make sure you have access to your medication as quickly as possible.

Medication pickup

Pick up your specialty medication at the Akron Children’s retail pharmacy located on the 3rd floor of the Considine building.

Medication delivery

You can choose to use our mail order service and have your medication delivered to your front door. We provide this service free to our patients. We will notify you of any delays and work with you and your provider to make sure you have access to your medications as quickly as possible.

All packages are packaged to prevent damage and insulated to maintain proper temperature for your medication. If you suspect your package was tampered with or damaged during shipping, call us immediately.

Care coordination

Our team of pharmacists communicate directly with your provider to keep them informed of about your therapy and work with them to make sure your medications are optimized to help you reach your specific therapy goals.

Financial assistance guidance

We understand specialty medications can be expensive. Our medication access team will work you to explain options you may qualify for to help decrease or eliminate the cost of your copay.
