Akron Children’s Hospital Women’s Board Presents the Children’s Tree of Lights Virtually on Dec. 3

11-01-2021 (Akron, Ohio )

Akron Children’s Perkins Square Park will light up again this year with thousands of blue and white lights on Friday, Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. as the Akron Children’s Hospital Women’s Board kicks off the holiday season at the annual Children’s Tree of Lights virtual ceremony.

The virtual event  will feature a video with Akron Children’s President and CEO Chris Gessner and CEO Emeritus Grace Wakulchik that captures the tree lighting ceremony, donor and honoree recognition, and the holiday spirit that have made this event a special holiday tradition since 1994. After the ceremony, don’t forget to visit Perkins Square Park and enjoy the lights.

With your help, our tree will shine even brighter as we commemorate each light to remember, honor or celebrate someone special or an event. Lights on the Children’s Tree are sold individually or by the string and can be purchased in amounts ranging from $10 to $100. Donations are also accepted. Visit akronchildrens.org/childrenstree for details.

Your donation, which will be recorded in the Children's Tree Memory Book, benefits the children and families we serve.

This year, the Bambino that tops the tree is sponsored by Akron Children’s Hospital Women's Board member Connie Nolte in honor and memory of her husband, Mr. James W. Nolte.
