Heart Murmurs

About 75 percent of children will have a heart murmur at some point in their life, but many of these will be no cause for concern and may eventually go away on their own. In this Children's Channel video, J.R. Bockoven, MD, a pediatric cardiologist at the Akron Children's Heart Center in Beachwood, discusses the occurrence of heart murmurs in children and the importance of a thorough evaluation to determine if there is an underlying condition that may need further attention.
