A Prom to Remember - Jackie's Story

Jackie Custer, a 17 year-old high school junior from North Canton, experienced A Prom to Remember, an annual event for pediatric cancer patients from Akron Children's Hospital, the Cleveland Clinic and Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital. Diagnosed with leukemia in 2014, Jackie is still recovering from a stroke she suffered after she started chemotherapy. Although Jackie would rather play basketball than shop, she enjoyed picking out her dress and getting spiffed up for the dance. Highlights of her evening included a limo ride from Akron Children's to the Ritz Carlton with fellow cancer survivors and their dates, meeting several Cleveland Cavaliers' players, including Matthew Dellavedova, and dancing with her friends.
