He earned his medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine, Durham, NC., and completed a pediatric residency and pediatric critical care fellowship at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, and fellowships in Pediatric Critical Care at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville, Va.
