Meet Tracie B., Parent Mentor at Akron Children's Hospital

Tracie B.

Tracie's Story

My daughter Emily was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of three, then one year later with celiac disease. Although it was challenging for a while, we function as any family does. We have been with Akron Children's Hospital since the beginning. Now at age 10 she enjoys swim team, horse riding, dance, sleepovers and all the fun things children do. I am proud to be a daughter, parent, and aunt of a diabetic!

Tracie is a parent mentor for these conditions: Celiac Disease, Diabetes.

Tracie is a mentor for these care services: Diabetes, Endocrine, Feeding and Nutrition, Rheumatology
