Meet Molly C., Parent Mentor at Akron Children's

Molly C.

Molly's Story

My son Simon was born at 32 weeks and spent 82 days in the NICU due to long gap esophageal atresia. He had a G-tube placed on day three and had a Foker procedure to repair his esophagus two and a half months later. He has had more than 20 surgical procedures to address the stricture in his esophagus. He also had a Nissen fundoplication to help correct his reflux. Despite all he has been through, he is now a happy and healthy toddler. He has caught up in all areas and to look at him you would never know he ever had any issues. The care we receive at Akron Children's continues to amaze me!

Molly is a parent mentor for these conditions: Asthma, Dysmotility, Esophageal Atresia, Esophageal Reflux, Farsightedness, Hernias, Tracheoesophageal Fistula.

Molly is a mentor for these care services: Asthma, Feeding and Nutrition, Gastroenterology, NICU, Surgery
