My wife, Lisa, and I have a daughter, Claire, with cystic fibrosis. She was born in July 2011 and spent over a week in the NICU with a blocked bowel. Her bowel cleared without surgery and we were sent home.
Three weeks later, a sweat test showed she has cystic fibrosis. We took the diagnosis pretty hard and got really protective of her. We've since loosened up and learned to work CF into our lives and how to manage it without having it run our lives. Claire is doing well with her treatments and thankfully has not had any hospital stays.
