Meet Angela M., Parent Mentor at Akron Children's
Angela's Story
Sophia was born on born on January 24, 2006, with multiple, congenital heart defects. We knew ahead of time about her condition. She had her first surgery at around 1 week old, her second at 7 months, and her third at almost 3 years. As a result of that surgery, she received a pacemaker and is 100% dependent on it.
She is now doing great. Although she will have more surgery in the future, we stay optimistic and enjoy the gift we've been given.
