Center for Child Advocacy
William Considine served as President and CEO of Akron Children’s for 39 years before being named CEO Emeritus in November 2018. Following his retirement on January 1, 2020, Considine will continue to work for Akron Children’s on a part-time basis with a focus on child advocacy and philanthropy.
“As I have throughout my career, I will continue to speak up on behalf of children and use my voice to advocate for programs and resources to support this vulnerable population. 2020 is an election year, and we need to ensure that politicians in both parties are making children a priority at the state and national level. The time for action is now, and I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of children by raising awareness of the importance of Medicaid and providing stable funding for children’s health care. Our legislative leaders need to understand the real impact that their policy decisions have on children, families and communities.”
