Akron Children’s Hospital welcomes pediatric optometrist Dr. Sarah Guillette

09-28-2021 (Akron, Ohio)

Sarah Guillette, O.D., has joined Akron Children’s’s Vision Center as a pediatric optometrist.

She will oversee a new clinic that specializes in fitting scleral contact lenses, specially fitted lenses that cover the sclera and cornea. The clinic, which sees patients on Wednesdays, will serve patients who do not tolerate soft contact lenses well, have inadequate vision with soft lenses or have ocular conditions that necessitate the need for scleral lenses.

Dr. Guillette completed her residency in pediatric optometry at Akron Children’s. She earned her doctor of optometry degree at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences School of Optometry in Worcester, Massachusetts, and holds a degree in French from Washington and Jefferson College in Washington, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Guillette lives in downtown Akron with her husband.

The Vision Center specializes in the comprehensive evaluation, coordinated care and cutting-edge treatment of eye disease and visual system disorders in infants, children, teens and adults who have remaining vision disorders due to childhood eye diseases.
