Akron Children’s Hospital to open pediatrics, specialty practice in Stow

Dr. Jeffrey McRaven

06-21-2021 (Akron, Ohio)

Akron Children’s is bringing pediatric primary care and rehabilitative services to Stow and surrounding communities with the opening of a new practice June 29.

Pediatric primary care will be the first service available at the new facility, located at 3019 Graham Road. Jeffrey McRaven, M.D., will be moving his medical practice from Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics, Hudson to the Stow office.

Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics, Stow will feature eight exam rooms, separate waiting areas for sick and well patients, and artwork created by local students.

“Stow will be the 33rd location in the Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics network,” said Mike Mainwaring, Akron Children’s Hospital vice president of community care. “For babies, kids and teens in the Stow area, we’ll provide care ranging from annual wellness checkups and immunizations to treatment for illness and chronic conditions.”

In the fall, Akron Children’s Rehabilitative Services will open at the Stow office. Services will include outpatient occupational therapy and speech therapy. Feeding therapy services provided by a team from neurobehavioral health psychology, occupational therapy, speech therapy and nutrition will also be available. These feeding services will focus on children with oral motor deficits related to feeding, problems with swallowing, and sensory- and behavioral-based feeding difficulties.

“Our feeding specialists work together to identify issues that interfere with a child’s ability to eat or drink and develop a customized treatment plan for each patient,” Mainwaring said.

To reach the office directly, call 234-233-6810, or call 330-KID-APPT (543-2778) for the Akron Children’s Appointment Center.
