Surprise sendoff for burn, rehabilitation patient is joyous for all after 296 days

Staff who worked so closely with 23-year-old Kim Locker during her 296 days of acute and rehabilitative care at Akron Children’s Hospital joyfully gathered to celebrate her discharge with a “clap out.” Kim became a double amputee and suffered burns on about 80% of her body after a drunk driver hit her vehicle 16 months ago, on Sept. 29, 2017.
