Dr. Pangonis is a pediatric infectious disease physician and medical director of Infection Control and Prevention at Akron Children’s, where she’s been practicing since 2020. A graduate of the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, she completed her pediatric residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She went on to complete a pediatric infectious disease fellowship at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center. Dr. Pangonis has a special interest in pediatric infectious diseases and infections in the immune-compromised patient. She is certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious disease by the American Board of Pediatrics, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She’s also a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society and several other professional organizations.
