Module 9 - Rashes

Goal:

Students will gain knowledge and clinical skills to identify various infantile and childhood skin marks and rashes.

Objectives:

Following the pediatric outpatient rotation, the student will be able to:

  1. Identify jaundice, petechiae, Mongolian spots, salmon patches, vesicles, pustules, cellulitis, and urticaria
  2. Describe the skin findings of different types of diaper rashes - irritant, candidal, staph
  3. Describe the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and treatment of childhood eczema
  4. Identify and discuss course of infantile hemangiomas
