Social Work Internships

The Social Work department accepts applications from students who are completing their master’s degrees in Social Work from The University of Akron, Case Western Reserve University and Youngstown State University.

• Students need to be in their last year of completing their master’s degree.
• Resumes and cover letters may be sent to Heather Lanfranchi at hlanfranchi@akronchildrens.org
• Resumes will be reviewed and students will be contacted for interviews.
• Interviews will be conducted with a social work supervisor.
• Some students will be asked to come back for a second interview. This will give you an opportunity to discuss your areas of interest in medical social work with our employees who are field instructors.
• Students who are matched with a social worker and asked to complete their field hours at Akron Children’s will complete hospital orientation to obtain badge access, login information and keys.
