Our pediatric residency program stresses the role of the pediatrician as a lifelong learner and educator of patients, families and other healthcare providers, as well as an advocate for issues affecting infants, children and teens. By giving you ample opportunities to gain first-hand experience, we focus on the development of your medical knowledge, clinical skills, professionalism, and interpersonal and communication skills.
We also provide you with community-based, continuity clinic experiences so you can learn what it’s really like to practice general pediatrics in urban, suburban and rural communities. This includes working with an immigrant population and children in foster care.
You will also be exposed to a variety of pediatric subspecialties and we encourage you to pursue research projects with subspecialists in your area of interest.
Our program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and affiliated with Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio.
