Pediatric Residency Program

Our motto is “we will help you get there,” whether you plan on a career in general pediatrics, hospital medicine or subspecialty pediatrics. As the largest pediatric provider in northeast Ohio, our goal is to provide future pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists with a well-rounded exposure to community-based general pediatrics; complex tertiary and quaternary care; research/scholarly activities; and a commitment to address child and family health needs beyond our walls.

Our pediatric residency program stresses the role of the pediatrician as a lifelong learner and educator of patients, families and other healthcare providers, as well as an advocate for issues affecting infants, children and teens. By giving you ample opportunities to gain first-hand experience, we focus on the development of your medical knowledge, clinical skills, professionalism, and interpersonal and communication skills.

We also provide you with community-based, continuity clinic experiences so you can learn what it’s really like to practice general pediatrics in urban, suburban and rural communities. This includes working with an immigrant population and children in foster care.

You will also be exposed to a variety of pediatric subspecialties and we encourage you to pursue research projects with subspecialists in your area of interest.

Our program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, and affiliated with Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, Ohio.
